Year-Round Schools

The Ë¿¹ÏÊÓƵ (TEA) is required to publish a list of campuses operating on a year-round system under Texas Education Code §25.084 (84th Texas Legislature, General Appropriations Act (GAA), Article III, Rider 69, 85th Texas Legislature, GAA, Article III, Rider 58, and 86th Texas Legislature, GAA, Article III, Rider 59).Ìý

Additionally, Rider 69 (84th Texas Legislature, GAA, Article III) required TEA to evaluate the performance of students attending schools that operate on a Year-Round education calendar in comparison to students attending schools that operate on a traditional school-year calendar.

Texas Fitness Now

The Texas Fitness Now (TFN) program provided grants to support in-school physical education and fitness programs for students in Grades 6, 7, and 8. The primary purpose of the grant was to help reduce childhood obesity and Type II diabetes.

    Migrant Education Program

    The Migrant Education Program (MEP) helps migrant students overcome the challenges of high levels of mobility, cultural and language barriers, social isolation, and other difficulties, to succeed in school and to successfully transition to postsecondary education or employment.
